Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP)
The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) provides three streams, each offering specific pathways for individuals to immigrate to the province of Manitoba and gain permanent residency in Canada. Through these streams, applicants can pursue different avenues to achieve their immigration goals and contribute to the diverse and vibrant community of Manitoba.

The Skilled Worker Stream is driven by local factors and tailored to meet the demands of Manitoba employers. We choose skilled workers with international experience and training, matching the specific needs of the local job market, and nominate them for Canadian permanent residency to live and work in Manitoba. This stream offers two pathways: Skilled Worker in Manitoba and Skilled Worker Overseas (SWO).
Skilled Worker in Manitoba
The Skilled Worker in Manitoba (SWM) Pathway nominates applicants who have a strong connection to our province through ongoing employment and sufficient skills, education and training, work experience and official language proficiency to make an immediate and ongoing contribution to the Manitoba economy and our community at large.
SKILLED WORKER OVERSEAS
The MPNP for Skilled Workers Overseas nominates applicants who demonstrate an established connection to Manitoba through:
- the support of family members or friends;
- previous education or work experience in the province; or
- an Invitation to Apply received directly from the MPNP as part of a Strategic Recruitment Initiative
International Education Stream
The International Education Stream (IES) provides international students graduating from designated Manitoba post-secondary institutions a faster pathway to nomination.
There are three pathways:
- Career Employment Pathway
- Graduate Internship Pathway and
- International Student Entrepreneur Pilot
- Minimum of three years of full-time work experience in the past five years either as an active business owner or working in a senior management role of a successful business.
- CLB/NCLC 5
- Highschool diploma
- Net worth $500,000
- Minimum investment is $250,000 for businesses situated in the Manitoba Capital Region or $150,000 if a business is situated outside of the Manitoba Capital Region.
- The proposed business must create or maintain at least one job for a Canadian Citizen or a Permanent Resident in Manitoba (excluding owners of the business and/or their close relatives).
- Exploratory visit within 1 year prior to EOI submission.
- Submit a business plan
- Sign a Business Performance Agreement
- Establish or purchase a business or become partner in an existing one within 2 years of arrival while on a valid temporary work permit, consistent with the requirements of your Business Performance Agreement (BPA).

Business Investor Stream
The Business Investor Stream allows Manitoba to recruit and nominate qualified business investors and entrepreneurs from around the world who have the intent and ability to start or purchase businesses in Manitoba. Applicants will no longer be required to submit a deposit of $100,000 to the Manitoba government.
ENTREPRENEUR PATHWAY
The renewed Entrepreneur Pathway replaces the previous MPNP-B stream. It allows Manitoba to recruit and nominate qualified business people from around the world who have the intent and ability to move to Manitoba and establish, purchase a business or become partners in an existing business within the first 24 months of arrival in Canada on a temporary work permit.
- Minimum of three years of full-time work experience in the past five years either as an active business owner or working in a senior management role of a successful business.

FARM INVESTOR PATHWAY
The updated Farm Investor Pathway (FIP) is replacing the former Farm Strategic Recruitment Initiative. This pathway is designed for individuals with proven experience in farm business, sufficient available capital for investment, and who have the intention to establish and manage a farm operation in rural Manitoba.
It is anticipated that successful applicants through the FIP will establish a farm business in rural Manitoba that produces primary products consistent with the current agricultural industry of the province. The type of operation and investment must align with provincial statistics and be relevant to Manitoba's agricultural sector. Agri-business operations not focused on primary products may be eligible under the Entrepreneur Pathway.
In case the nomination application is approved by the FIP, the applicant must make a deposit of CAD $75,000 to the Manitoba Development Corporation before a Certificate of Nomination can be issued.
- Minimum of three years farm ownership and operation experience supported by verifiable documents.
- Able to communicate in English or French
- Proven farming skills, technical knowledge and experience
- Investment of $300,000 in tangible assets
- Conduct a Farm Business Research Visit to Manitoba
- Live on the farm and actively participate in the management of the farm business on an ongoing basis from within Manitoba.
- The farm business must be in active primary agriculture production and economically viable.
