To participate in the AIPP program, applicants must meet the following conditions:
- Job Offer: Must have a full-time and permanent job offer from a designated employer in one of the Atlantic provinces.
- Work Experience: At least one year of related work experience within the past three years, except for international graduates.
- Language Proficiency: Meet the minimum language requirement of CLB 4 in either English or French.
- Education: Have a high school diploma or higher, accompanied by an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) to demonstrate that the qualification meets Canadian standards.
- Settlement Support: Complete a detailed settlement plan with the support of designated settlement organizations.
- Job offer from the employer.
- Language certificate (IELTS, CELPIP, or TEF).
- Educational credentials and assessment.
- Personal documents such as passport, birth certificate, and marriage certificate (if applicable)
- Approved settlement plan.
- Job Search: Applicants need to find and receive a job offer from a designated employer in the Atlantic region.
- Educational Credential Assessment: For applicants who did not study in Canada, an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) is required.
- Complete Settlement Plan: Applicants, in collaboration with a settlement support organization, must develop a personal settlement plan.
- Apply for Provincial Endorsement: After receiving the job offer, applicants submit an application for provincial endorsement through the AIPP.
- Apply for Permanent Residence: Once endorsed by the province, applicants submit their application for permanent residence with IRCC (Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada).
Settlement Support
Applicants and their families will receive support from local settlement organizations, including:
- Assistance with finding housing and schools.
- Financial and cultural counseling.
- Language training and skills development programs.
Pathways of the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program
The Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP) includes three main pathways, each designed to attract different types of applicants to meet the labor needs and economic development goals of the Atlantic provinces.
Atlantic High-Skilled Program (AHSP)
The Atlantic High-Skilled Program attracts highly skilled workers to work in occupations that require specialized expertise.

Educational Credentials and Assessment (ECA): High school diploma or higher. If educated outside Canada, an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) from an IRCC-recognized organization is required.
Personal Documents:
- Valid passport.
- Birth certificate, marriage certificate (if applicable), and other identity verification documents.
Work Experience: Documents proving at least one year of work experience within the last three years in a management, professional, or technical position (NOC 0, A, B).
Settlement Plan: A detailed settlement plan completed with the support of a designated settlement support organization.
- Find an Employer:
- Search for and receive a job offer from a designated employer in the Atlantic region.
- Language Testing and Credential Assessment:
- Take language tests and complete an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) if required.
- Complete Settlement Plan
- Contact a settlement support organization to develop a detailed settlement plan.
- Apply for Provincial Endorsement
- Once you have all documents and a job offer, submit your application for provincial endorsement through the AHSP.
- Apply for Permanent Residence
- After receiving the provincial endorsement, submit your application for permanent residence with IRCC (Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada).
Permanent Residence Application Processing Fee: Approximately 1,325 CAD per principal applicant (including a 500 CAD permanent residence fee).
Application Fee for Spouse or Partner: 1,325 CAD.
Fee for Each Dependent Child: 225 CAD.
Language Testing Fees: Varies by testing organization.
Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) Fee: Typically ranges from 200 CAD to 300 CAD, depending on the assessing organization.
Atlantic Intermediate-Skilled Program (AISP)
The Atlantic Intermediate-Skilled Program (AISP) addresses the labor shortage in intermediate-skilled occupations in the Atlantic region of Canada. This program attracts international workers to meet the hiring needs of local employers while providing settlement opportunities for workers and their families, contributing to the economic and social development of the region.
Job Offer: Must have a full-time and permanent job offer from a designated employer.
Work Experience: At least one year of related work experience within the last three years in intermediate-skilled occupations (NOC C).
Language Proficiency: Achieve a minimum CLB 4 in language tests.
Education: Minimum high school diploma or higher, with an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) if required.
Settlement Plan: Complete and submit an approved settlement plan.
Job Offer: A full-time and permanent job offer from a designated employer in the Atlantic region.

- Complete Settlement Plan: Contact a settlement support organization to develop a detailed settlement plan.
- Apply for Provincial Endorsement: Once you have all the necessary documents and a job offer, submit an application for provincial endorsement through the AISP.
- Apply for Permanent Residence: After receiving provincial endorsement, submit your application for permanent residence to Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

Atlantic International Graduate Program (AIGP)
The Atlantic International Graduate Program (AIGP) aims to attract international graduates from public educational institutions in the Atlantic region, providing them with the opportunity to settle and work long-term in Canada. This program supports the Atlantic provinces in retaining young talent and contributes to the economic and social development of the region.
Job Offer: Must have a full-time and permanent job offer from a designated employer in the Atlantic region.
Education: Must have graduated from a public post-secondary institution in one of the four Atlantic provinces (New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, or Prince Edward Island) within the last 24 months. The program of study must have been at least two years in duration.
Language Proficiency: Achieve a minimum CLB 4 in English language tests (IELTS, CELPIP) or French (TEF).
No Work Experience Required: Previous work experience is not required for this program.
Settlement Plan: Complete and submit an approved settlement plan with the support of a designated settlement support organization.
Job Offer: A full-time and permanent job offer from a designated employer in the Atlantic region.
