Manitoba, one of the Prairie Provinces, is bounded by Nunavut territories on the north, Ontario on the east, Minnesota, North Dakota on the south, and Saskatchewan on the west. It is home to more than 100,000 lakes that includes Lake Winnipeg, one of the world’s largest inland freshwater bodies.
The name Manitoba comes from the Indian word “Man-into-wahpaow,” which means “the God who speaks.” it is popularly known as the “Heart of Canada.”
This eighth largest province of Canada has a moderately strong economy based on natural resources. Today their economy relies on agriculture, tourism, electricity, oil, mining, and forestry. Canada’s agriculture is so central to their economy that the southern half of the province’s population is in the agriculture sector.

Designated Learning Institution or DLI number is provided to those institutions approved by a provincial or territorial government to host international students. Moreover, please note that not all programs at the DLI institutions are eligible for Post Graduation Work Permit (PGWP).
