Ngày 7/7, Statistics Canada đã công bố công cụ trực quan hóa dữ liệu mới, cho phép người dùng theo dõi thu nhập và tình hình tài chính của người nhập cư tại Canada.

Công cụ này cập nhật dữ liệu mới nhất đến năm 2021, giúp người dùng so sánh thu nhập trung bình (average income) và trung vị (median income) theo tình trạng nhập cư và trình độ học vấn.

  • Average income: Total income divided equally among the entire survey group.
  • Median income: The income level in the middle – half of people earn more and half earn less than this level.

Average income of immigrants in Canada in 2021

According to statistics, the average income from employment of immigrants in 2021 is 49,160 CAD, including salaries, wages, commissions, tips and self-employment income.

The median income is CAD 36,800.

Other factors affecting immigrants' income

Statistics Canada 2022 data also shows many factors that affect long-term earnings, including:

1. Pre-landing Canadian work experience

People who have worked in Canada before officially settling down often have the opportunity to earn a higher income.

2. Age at landing

People who come to Canada at a young age tend to earn more. Even after 10–11 years, they can still earn 44% more than people who come at an older age.

3. Official language proficiency
