Saskatchewan Increases Immigration Quota For 2025

Tăng thêm 1.136 suất trong chương trình SINP

Tỉnh bang Saskatchewan vừa nhận được tăng cường hạn ngạch 1.136 suất đề cử theo Chương trình Đề cử Tỉnh bang Saskatchewan (SINP – Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program) cho năm 2025.

This brings the total number of applications allocated for 2025 under the SINP to 4,761.

According to confirmed information, 25% of the new slots will be reserved for the following industries:

  • Trucking
  • Accomodation
  • Food service
  • Retail trade

SINP Changes in 2025

In 2025, the SINP program has many important adjustments:

  1. Initial quota reduction: From January 2025, the SINP quota has been reduced by 50% compared to 2024.
  2. New Federal Regulations: 75% of nominees must be physically present in Canada. Only 25% are for candidates from outside Canada, focusing on the following industries:
    • Healthcare
    • Agriculture
    • Skilled trades
  3. Changes to program areas:
    • Entrepreneur and Farm Owner/Operator
    • Restricting certain categories for Open Work Permit holders.
    • Narrowing the eligibility for international students.
    • Remove spa, salon, pet services (except veterinarians) from the list of eligible occupations.

Other provinces also have increased quotas.

Saskatchewan isn’t the only province getting more quotas from the federal government. Several other provinces have also made adjustments:

  • Newfoundland and Labrador: 1,000 additional PNP spots by February 2025. Additionally, the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) will add 475 spots, bringing the total quota to 2,525.
  • New Brunswick: June 2025, increase 1,500 PNP slots. At the same time, there are 1,250 slots under AIP, bringing the total quota in 2025 to 4,250.
  • Yukon: Received 67 additional nominations in August 2025.
  • Meanwhile, Ontario and British Columbia have seen their quotas cut by 50%, resulting in the closure of some streams or limits on the number of applications processed in 2025.

Conclusion:

The fact that Saskatchewan and many other provinces are receiving more immigration quotas shows that the demand for labor in Canada is changing, focusing more on essential industries such as transportation, food service, retail, as well as health care and agriculture.

People intending to settle in Canada should closely monitor the adjustments of each province, especially SINP, to choose the most suitable path.
